1. Introduction

RideAlong LLC (“RideAlong”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through its compliance with this Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”).

This Privacy Policy describes the types of information RideAlong may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit www.ridealongllc.com (the “Website”), including any content, functionality, applications, software and services offered on or through the Website, and the RideAlong mobile app (the “App”) (collectively, the “RideAlong Platform”), and RideAlong’s practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This Privacy Policy applies to information RideAlong collects:

  • On the RideAlong Platform.

  • In email, text, and other electronic messages between you and the RideAlong Platform or RideAlong.

  • Through web, mobile or desktop applications you download from the RideAlong Platform, which provide dedicated non-browser-based interaction between you and the RideAlong Platform.

  • When you interact with RideAlong’s advertising and applications on third-party websites and services, if those applications or advertising include links to this Privacy Policy.

It does not apply to information collected by:

  • Any third party (including RideAlong’s affiliates and subsidiaries), including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or on the RideAlong Platform.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand RideAlong’s policies and practices regarding your information and how RideAlong will treat it. If you do not agree with RideAlong’s policies and practices, your choice is not to use the RideAlong Platform. By accessing or using the RideAlong Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time (see the Changes to RideAlong’s Privacy Policy section, below). Your continued use of the RideAlong Platform after RideAlong makes changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the Privacy Policy periodically for updates.

The RideAlong Platform is hosted on servers in the United States. Accordingly, if you are located outside of the United States, any information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. By providing us with any information, you consent to its transfer and storage in the United States.

2. Information RideAlong Collects and How RideAlong Collects It

(a) Collection.  RideAlong collects several types of information from and about users of the RideAlong Platform, including information:

  • by which you or your customer may be personally identified, either alone or in combination with other information available to RideAlong, such as name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, age, photos, driver’s license or permit number, vehicle identification number, license plate number, insurance policy information, signatures, or other personal information, as further defined under applicable laws (“Personal Information”);

  • that is about you or your customer but individually does not identify you or your customer, such as automatically recorded times and dates of visits to the RideAlong Platform; and/or

  • about your internet connection, the equipment you use to access the RideAlong Platform and usage details.

RideAlong collects this information:

  • Directly from you when you provide it to RideAlong.

  • Automatically as you navigate through or use the RideAlong Platform. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies.

  • From third parties, for example, RideAlong’s business partners.

  1. Information You Provide to Us.  The information RideAlong collects on or through the RideAlong Platform may include:

  • Information that you or your customer provides by filling in forms on the RideAlong Platform. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use the RideAlong Platform, subscribing to any RideAlong service, posting material, or requesting further services. RideAlong may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the RideAlong Platform.

  • Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact RideAlong.

  • Your responses to surveys that RideAlong might ask you to complete for research purposes.

  • Details of transactions you carry out through the RideAlong Platform. You may be required to provide financial information before placing an order through the RideAlong Platform.

  • Your search queries on the RideAlong Platform.

You also may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted”) on public areas of the RideAlong Platform or transmitted to other users of the RideAlong Platform or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions and Content”). Your User Contributions and Content are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although RideAlong limits access to certain pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, RideAlong cannot control the actions of other users of the RideAlong Platform with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions and Content. Therefore, RideAlong cannot and does not guarantee that your User Contributions and Content will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

  1. Information RideAlong Collects Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies.  As you navigate through, download, interact with, access and use the RideAlong Platform, RideAlong may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, mobile device browsing actions, and patterns, including:

  • Details of your visits to, access or use of the RideAlong Platform, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on or through the RideAlong Platform.

  • Information about your computer, mobile device and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, unique device identifier, browser type, mobile network information, and any mobile device’s telephone number.

  • The RideAlong Platform may also access metadata and information associated with files stored on your device.  This may include, for example, photographs, audio and video clips, personal contacts, and address book information.

The information RideAlong collects automatically is statistical data and may include personal information, or RideAlong may maintain it or associate it with personal information RideAlong collects in other ways or receive from third parties. It helps RideAlong to improve the RideAlong Platform and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling RideAlong to:

  • Store information about your preferences, allowing RideAlong to customize the RideAlong Platform according to your individual interests.

  • Speed up your searches.

  • Recognize you when you return to the RideAlong Platform.

The technologies RideAlong uses for this automatic data collection may include:

  • Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser or mobile device. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of the RideAlong Platform. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, RideAlong’s system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to the RideAlong Platform.

  • Flash Cookies. Certain features of the RideAlong Platform may use local stored objects (or Flash cookies) to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from, and on the RideAlong Platform. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings as are used for browser cookies.

  • Web Beacons. Pages of the RideAlong Platform and RideAlong’s e-mails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit RideAlong, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related RideAlong Platform statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain RideAlong Platform content and verifying system and server integrity).

4. Third-Party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies.

Some content or applications, including advertisements, on the RideAlong Platform are served by third-parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers, and application providers. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use the RideAlong Platform. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

RideAlong does not control these third parties' tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

5. How RideAlong Uses Your Information

RideAlong uses information that RideAlong collects about you and your customer, or that you or your customer provide to RideAlong, including any personal information:

  • To provide you with the RideAlong Platform and its contents

  • To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from RideAlong

  • To improve your experience using the RideAlong Platform

  • To allow you to post content to the RideAlong Platform

  • To allow you to interact with other users

  • To allow you to participate in promotions and programs on the RideAlong Platform

  • To provide information or services you have requested

  • To process or maintain your registration on the RideAlong Platform

  • To facilitate advertisements on the RideAlong Platform

  • To adapt the services of RideAlong’s network and community to your needs

  • To research the effectiveness of RideAlong’s network and community

  • To develop new tools for RideAlong’s network and community

  • To fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it

  • To provide you with notices about your account, including expiration and renewal notices.

  • To carry out RideAlong’s obligations and enforce RideAlong’s rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and RideAlong, including for billing and collection

  • To notify you about updates or changes to the RideAlong Platform or any products or services RideAlong offers or provides though it

  • To allow you to participate in interactive features on the RideAlong Platform

  • In any other way RideAlong may describe when you provide the information

  • For any other purpose with your consent

6. Disclosure of Your Information

RideAlong may disclose aggregated information about RideAlong’s users, and information that does not identify any individual or device, without restriction.

RideAlong may disclose personal information that RideAlong collects or you or your customer provide as described in this Privacy Policy:

  • To RideAlong’s subsidiaries and affiliates.

  • The to applicable Department of Motor Vehicles or other regulatory authority as applicable to the RideAlong driver test services

  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties RideAlong uses to support RideAlong’s business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which RideAlong discloses it to them.

  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of RideAlong's assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by RideAlong about RideAlong Platform users is among the assets transferred.

  • To third parties to market their products or services to you if you have not opted out of these disclosures. For more information, see Choices About How RideAlong Uses and Discloses Your Information.

  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it.

  • For any other purpose disclosed by RideAlong when you provide the information.

  • With your consent.

RideAlong may also disclose your or your customer’s personal information:

  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.

  • To enforce or apply RideAlong’s rights arising from any contracts entered into by you and RideAlong, including any Services Agreement, the RideAlong Terms of Use, Mobile End User License Agreement, and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes.

  • If RideAlong believes disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of RideAlong, RideAlong’s customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

7. Choices About How RideAlong Uses and Discloses Your Information

RideAlong strives to provide you with choices regarding the personal information provided to RideAlong. RideAlong has created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

  • Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. To learn how you can manage your Flash cookie settings, visit the Flash player settings page on Adobe's website. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of the RideAlong Platform may then be inaccessible or not function properly.

 

  • Disclosure of Your Information for Third-Party Advertising. If you do not want us to share your personal information with unaffiliated or non-agent third parties for promotional purposes, you can opt-out by sending an email requesting an opt-out to [URL].

 

  • Promotional Communications.  You may indicate your preference to opt out of receiving promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the promotional email you receive or by contacting us directly. You acknowledge that it may take up to 10 days for us to process an opt-out request. Please note, however, that you are not permitted to opt out of receiving transactional emails related to any business services that you have with us.

RideAlong does not control third parties' collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") on the NAI's website.

8. Your California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits users of the RideAlong Platform that are California residents to request certain information regarding RideAlong’s disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 9. Data Security

RideAlong has implemented measures designed to secure personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.

The safety and security of information also depends on you. Where RideAlong has given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of the RideAlong Platform, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. RideAlong asks you not to share your password with anyone. RideAlong urges you to be careful about giving out information in public areas of the RideAlong Platform. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the RideAlong Platform.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. RideAlong cannot guarantee the security of personal information transmitted to the RideAlong Platform. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. RideAlong is not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the RideAlong Platform.

10. Changes to the Privacy Policy

It is RideAlong’s policy to post any changes to RideAlong’s Privacy Policy on this page. If RideAlong makes material changes to how RideAlong treats users' personal information, RideAlong will notify you. The date the Privacy Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for ensuring RideAlong has an up-to-date active and deliverable email address for you, and for periodically visiting the RideAlong Platform and this Privacy Policy to check for any changes.
